 First Grade Parents!

                                                              September, 2009

Your child is about to embark on an exciting journey of learning and growing: spiritually, academically and socially. You will see your child's fine motor skills and coordination improve and your child will evidence impressive changes in social and thinking skills, as he/she builds on the skills developed during early childhood and progresses toward intellectual and emotional independence. At 6 and 7, your child is curious, active ( bet you already knew that! ), and becoming engrossed in school and negotiating new friendships. You may find that these impressionable early school years are the perfect time to instill the value of education, making it easier to facilitate good study habits later on ( making your life a lot easier).

The first grade classroom is a place of trial and error, tremendous growth and many successes. Children learn in many different ways and as educators, we strive to insure that your child is exposed to multiple and varied experiences to enhance the learning process.

I am excited about meeting your children and I am looking forward to a rewarding and successful school year. I thank you, in advance, for your support in helping to make this a memorable First Grade experience for your child. It's going to be a great year. Relax and enjoy it.

                                                                   Sincerely,

                                                                  Mrs. Hart-Winner
